Denise McPherson is an American oil painter based in the high plains of Lubbock, Texas.  

Born and raised in South Carolina, Denise grew up with a love for nature, the ocean, and being outside. When she was little, she would daydream while staring at the clouds, picking out shapes and imagining what they could be. As an adult, she’s still staring at the clouds, admiring God’s handiwork in the sky. 

Having relocated to her husband’s hometown in West Texas, she now paints the mystery and magic of the southwest. Drawn to the expansive West Texas sky and wide open plains, Denise finds new inspiration every single day. Whether it’s a magnificent sunset or West Texas thunderstorm, she enjoys capturing the dramatic landscape of the southwest. 

In addition to southwestern landscapes, Denise also enjoys portraiture. Inspired by her role as a mother, she often depicts children and family in everyday moments. 

Denise’s work can be found in private collections across the United States. When she’s not painting, she’s homeschooling and raising her daughter and twin boys.
